Maintenance Technician

The electromechanical maintenance technician maintains and repairs machines. They investigate the cause of malfunctions, analyze their severity, and estimate the time required for repairs. They create detailed drawings of parts to be manufactured and read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics. The technician analyzes machine downtime and determines a troubleshooting procedure.

Career opportunities:


The electromechanical maintenance technician may work in the maintenance department of: production units; SMEs and SMIs; entities with facilities for: energy production; heat and cold production; transport; etc.

Qualification awarded upon completion of training : 


Qualification certificate for "Electromechanical Maintenance Technician" specific to upper secondary education for social advancement. 

Admission requirements:


To hold a lower secondary education certificate. 

Course description: 


The training is spread over three years and includes:
• 1440 periods of instruction divided into 11 training units including teaching activities such as: reading electrical plans, electronics, digital electronics, electrotechnics, technical drawing of electricity, handling technical problems, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics, knowledge and use of materials, …
• 120 periods of internship;
• 40 periods of preparation for the integrated assessment;
